My experience at Camp Harrison began as a camper, where I first developed a strong connection to the program and its community. Over the years, I returned as a counselor and eventually advanced into a leadership staff role as a Multi-Week Coordinator in 2023, allowing me to grow within the organization and take on increasing levels of responsibility. This progression gave me a deep understanding of the camp’s operations from multiple perspectives.
As a Multi-Week Coordinator, I was responsible for planning and overseeing both on-campus programming and off-campus excursions for extended camp sessions. This included coordinating logistics for activities, scheduling events, and ensuring that each experience was engaging, well-organized, and aligned with program goals. I played a key role in designing meaningful experiences that balanced recreation, education, and community-building.
In addition, I managed critical logistical components such as transportation, lunch coordination, and communication with external businesses and vendors. I ensured that all off-campus trips, including activities like river tubing, were executed safely and efficiently by confirming details, managing schedules, and maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders. This role strengthened my leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
